Inside Ms. Amy Bue's 7th Grade Classroom

Language Arts is Comprised of These Different Categories:

VOCABULARY:

Vocabulary falls under your report card Reading grade. Vocabulary grades will be earned through the Flocabulary program. New vocabulary words will typically be given on a 3-week rotation. Grades will consist of classwork, homework, class participation, and an end-of-unit test. Unfinished classwork will be assigned as homework.

READING:

Grades will be earned through classwork and homework using our textbook lessons and supplemental materials. Grades will also be earned through quizzes, class participation, vocabulary, and tests.

GRAMMAR:

Students will be using a grammar workbook, supplemental materials, and the Caught Ya! grammar program to earn grammar grades. Grammar falls under the English Skills portion of your report card grade. Classwork and homework will be given, along with quizzes and tests. Class participation will also count towards this grade.

ENGLISH SKILLS:

Grades for English Skills will be earned through writing assignments, journals, and grammar assignments using our textbook and supplemental materials. Classwork and homework will be given, along with quizzes and tests. Class participation will also count towards this grade.

Inside Mr. Matt Marchion's 8th Grade Classroom

My name is Matt Marchion and I am a graduate of Youngstown State University. This is my 13th year at St. Joe’s and I am looking forward to continuing to prepare our students for continued success.  I Teach Grades 5-8 Social Studies along with grade 8 health.  This year we will be bringing back History Day projects for the 8th Grade.  Look for more information to come home soon.
